Parts of southern Israel have been targeted by Iran as the conflict enters its eighth day. What you're seeing here is the latest
pictures. Sirens have been sur sounding in Burshiba and surrounding towns. Now the Israeli army says an interceptor missile was launched in response and there's also been heavy damage to an apartment building. Onor Alder joins us live now from Aman and she's reporting from there because the Israeli government has banned Alazer from reporting inside of Israel and occupied territories. Uh nor uh we're
seeing obviously these latest pictures. What more do we know though on the impact and the damage? Well, there hasn't been an official Israeli military statement yet, except for the comment to Israeli media that there seems to have been a malfunction in the inter interception system which led to the direct impact of that one missile we saw in Beer Shiva. There was extensive damage to u many buildings. Israelis posted on social media, damage to their windows and furniture. Uh five people were lightly injured, 30 uh were
reported to have been treated for panic. Uh but we don't know if this was a if Iran had launched one lone missile or or several and that others were intercepted. We're still waiting to hear uh or see an official statement from the Israeli army on that. But certainly this area, which is less densely populated than central uh Israel, seems to be in the crosshairs. We saw a significant uh volley yesterday uh around the same time uh that left a lot of damage in Soroka Hospital, the major hospital that serves
southern Israel serves a million people in that area. Right now only light injuries and that one impact that uh whose pictures have been cleared by the Israeli military sensor. Uh and Noralda um have we heard anything from the Israeli leadership? the uh Israeli forces on this latest attack, but also on the fact that President Donald Trump has said that he'll give himself two more weeks to decide whether he'll be involved in this conflict or not. Well, nothing on this attack, which as I said, we're still trying to figure out
if the if Iran had launched only one missile or several, but certainly on the comments made by D
onald Trump, and as we know, he's prolific. So, it's difficult to react to everything he says. The Israeli leadership is very careful uh not to upset him, not to seem to be in disagreement with him. So usually the line is we trust Donald Trump. He is the best friend that Israel has ever had. We thank Donald Trump for the military support that he gives Israel, the arament and the defense and the uh and
the assistance and interception. The Israeli prime minister yesterday said that even if Donald Trump decides not to engage actively in the Israeli uh uh bombardment of Iran, uh Israel would proceed on its own. It would continue to in his words uh defend itself. So there there is that caution to make sure not to upset him. While all the time commentary is is quite clear, Israel is working through back channels, through friends in the Republican party to pressure the administration as much as it can to move in that direction. We
even saw some uh posters and sign come up in Tel Aviv and other areas uh pleading with Donald Trump to give the order. Okay, thank you very much for the update on latest in Israel.
